Gimme that BBQ!

For my hubby's birthday this year he wanted to relax and take a day off work and spend
that time slow roasting a pork shoulder.  Now let me tell ya, he showed that shoulder
more love and care than anything he has ever cooked haha.  I helped him come up with QUITE
the dry rub seasoning.  It was fun coming up with our own combo of spices
and then adding some pinches
of this or dashes of that once we got them in the bags to marinate over night.

Just look at the tender care he took in seasoning the shoulder!

And boy....was it a LONG day of smelling that amazing stuff cooking.  We may have snuck a bite or two to make sure that it was tasting yummy enough to share with our friends.

And just in case yu want to drool over it one more time.  MAN was that one tasty dinner.  I'm pretty sure he enjoyed this birthday more than any other.  Not only did he get to enjoy the amazing meat he cooked up for everyone and enjoy all the tasty side dishes our friends brought, but it was his first birthday as a proud papa.

Baby girl is staring off into a crowd of people that were enjoying dinner.  Her little hand on her chin cracks me up.  It's like she's thinking "Hmmm when do I get to enjoy tasty food like that!?"
