So Inspiring

In setting up this blog site, it has been so great to hear feed back from people on what they think of my pictures. The reason for this is mostly because I need constructive criticism from all of you! The only way to improve is to learn from my mistakes and errors in the shots I do. So please please please leave comments for me to get a feel for your opinions!
I have spent a lot of time (well hours actually!) reading blogs of other photographers and seeing all the different types of photography that is offered. It is truly amazing the talent that is out there. One of my favorite blogs is also a friend of mine, and recently my husband Pat and I did one of the newly popular "trash the dress" sessions with her to celebrate our upcoming 2 year anniversary. It was so much fun! Pat was a little nervous about this at first, but after looking at the pictures there is nothing he needed to worry about. They are so fun and Alexis is an absolutely amazing photographer. If you have a chance, please check out some of the fun shots she captured! here is a link to a slide show of the pictures http://www.studioxplore.com/kristin_pat/index.html
and here is a link to her blog http://studioxplore.wordpress.com/
Alexis! You are so amazing and such a great inspiration to all aspiring photographers! Thanks for such a great afternoon :)

They Grow So Fast!

I have known Melissa for over ten years and watching her and her husband start their family has been so fun. They have the most beautiful little girl and she's about to become a big sister any day now! Picking some of my favorites from their session was so hard-- enjoy the ones I narrowed it down to!

Serious Smiles

A couple weeks ago I met some of our friends to take some family portaits. Cutest little guy- but had quite a few serious moments! Was still fun and was able to get in some cute shots! Enjoy some of my faves!

This one is too cute! Crew are you trying to tell me to wait before taking the picture!?

Getting Started :-)

I have always loved capturing my friends and family during special times together. They have been so patient throughout the years with my asking to “smile!” so I could capture what I thought was a picture perfect moment. As I’ve grown into my photography, I’ve learned that it’s not always about getting the perfect pose, but being able to capture those we love being exactly who they are as they are! Parents especially will tell you that some of their favorite pictures of their little ones are where they are just being themselves.
I am a natural light photographer, which does make scheduling difficult at times with our lovely Michigan weather… But we work around that best we can! As much as I love the photo journalistic approach to taking pictures, I also love the traditional family portrait style.
My passion for people and my obsession with taking pictures has brought me to turn my hobby into artwork for you treasure!
xoxo Kristin

Sisters!

I had the opportunity to photograph some friends of mine along with their two adorable daughters. You can tell we had fun with these two adorable characters...mom and dad had a good time too!
